Day 01: Hanoi - Arrival - First visit (L)

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), you'll be greeted by our fluent English-speaking guide and driver, who will then transfer you by car to central Hanoi. The first scenes of chaotic Vietnamese traffic unfold before your eyes.

Depending on your arrival flight schedule, you will either have the opportunity to rest at your hotel if the room is available, or to go on an orientation tour of the city.

Day 02: Hanoi - Discovery of the Capital (B. L)

Breakfast at the hotel, now we offer you an unusual tour of the city , far from the classic tourist circuit, we will go off the beaten track. Let's start by sharing an egg coffee , a specialty of the city, to get to know our guide. Crossing some of the 36 streets and corporations of the old quarter of Hanoi, we will visit an old typical Hanoian house . You then stroll through the typical market of Dong Xuan and visit the temple of Bach Ma . Then you stroll on the Doumer bridge . After strolling on this bridge, you visit the railway that crosses the city.

Next, we head to the Western District to visit  Tran Quoc Pagoda,  located on the shores of West Lake. It is known as one of the oldest and most beautiful pagodas in Vietnam.

Lunch at a good local restaurant.

The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the  Temple of Literature  in Hanoi - a symbol of Vietnamese feudal education and living proof of the passionate spirit of Vietnamese learning. Afterwards, we take a short walk to visit the  Ngoc Son Temple, "Jade Mountain,"  located on the shores of the Lake of the Restored Sword, an opportunity to contemplate the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake at dusk.

Theater evening  : You attend thewater puppet dance show.

Day 03: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Eo Ken - Hang Village - Pu Luong Nature Reserve (B. L)

Breakfast at the hotel, departure to the Pu Luong reserve  crossing Mai Chau , new wonder crossing endless rice fields and ethnic villages, offering panoramas of striking beauty. Lunch in a local restaurant

With its unspoiled landscapes and abundant and diverse flora and fauna, the nature reserve has become a fascinating destination for all nature lovers. Covering an area of ​​17,662 hectares, Pu Luong Nature Reserve is the largest karst forest area in northern Vietnam, with three main types of forest: lowland jungle, montane forests, and bamboo and shrub massifs. Upon arrival, visitors can walk through villages clinging to the mountainside, admire terraced rice paddies and lush forests, visit caves, and admire numerous norias – hydraulic machines used by several ethnic minorities to raise water using the energy produced by the water current to irrigate rice paddies.

Your journey then takes you to Eo Ken, inhabited by the Muong ethnic group. From there, you begin a walk that leads you to the village of Hang . As you walk, you will discover the rice fields that line our route, immersing you in the daily life of these smiling and welcoming people who work in the fields. 

Late afternoon, you'll check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free, giving you the opportunity to appreciate the splendid landscapes and rice paddies that characterize this reserve. Dinner is on your own and you'll spend the night at the hotel.

Day 04: Pu Luong - Discovery - Ninh Binh (B. L)

• Pu Luong – Ninh Binh: 125 km ~ 3 hours drive 

Breakfast. In the morning, you will embark on a walking tour along the most beautiful walking route in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve.

From your hotel, you start walking to the village of Don . From this village, you will cross rice terraces to reach the village of Uoi . These are the most beautiful rice terraces in the reserve. Visit the village of Uoi before continuing to the village of Lan Trong and Lan Ngoai . You will meet women who still weave manually using the traditional method. Contact with the smiling and welcoming local people. 

Next, you stop at the suspension bridge over the Cham River to begin your walk in  search of water wheels . You discover how the river water moves through the handcrafted bamboo aqueducts, simple constructions of all sizes. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Then depart for Ninh Binh – a region nicknamed “Halong Bay on land” . After a 3-hour drive, you will arrive in Ninh Binh, where you will check into your hotel. Free dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. 

Day 05: Ninh Binh - Thien Ha Cave - Thung Nham - Cycling in Tam Coc (B. L)

Breakfast at the hotel, this morning, you make the beautiful discovery of  Thien Ha Cave  which is truly a splendid work of art that nature has offered to man. It is a must-see destination in the cave discovery tour in Ninh Binh. You take a boat ride for about 1km and then walk 500m . Visitors have the impression of contemplating a "stone castle" with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. With a height of about 3m and 700m long, Thien Ha Cave consists of 2 parts: the "dry" cave and the "flooded" cave. At the heart of the cave, it is a "sky well" where natural light spreads to the bottom of the cave creating a fantastic spectacle with sparkling stalactites.

In the dry cave, visitors can contemplate thousands of stone artworks created by nature in the forms of humans and animals according to the imagination of visitors such as: fox, elephant, dragon, unicorn, Buddha, ... This cave is 200m long. Visitors continue their boat trip for 500m long in the flooded cave to cross the Milky Way and to admire stalactites sparkling in all the colors of the rainbow. Visitors would have the feeling of being lost in a fairy world. The space is so tranquil that the only sound is that of the oars.

This site is well connected with the  Thung Nham site  with which you continue your rowing boat ride to discover the But cave and two other caves . Then you take the car to the bird garden - a new eco-tourism site . You have the opportunity to discover cultural values, beautiful landscapes as well as biodiversity.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon:  you will take a beautiful bike ride that will take you through small winding paths in the middle of rice fields as far as the eye can see where you will feel the tranquility and serenity of country life without neglecting human contact with the smiling and hospitable peasants. Still by bike, towards the Bich  Dong pagoda . In front of the pagoda course, you have a view of the terrestrial Ha Long Bay.

Return to your hotel. The rest of the time is free to relax and stroll through the surrounding villages. Dinner is at your leisure and overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: Ninh Binh - Ha Long - Bai Tu Long Bay - Cruise (BL D)

After breakfast, departure by private car for the departure to Bai Tu Long Bay which is wilder and less frequented.

Arriving in Ha Long around noon, you'll immediately board a beautiful junk, converted into a floating hotel, for a magnificent cruise to discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site. A welcome drink and a presentation of the cruise program will be provided. Then, you'll settle into your cabin to freshen up. Lunch will be served while your junk begins its cruise, sailing amidst the magnificent landscapes of the 7th Wonder of the World, with its thousands of islands and islets shaped like sugar loaves. 

You then use the small boat to reach the island of Cap La where you take a beautiful kayak ride through breathtaking landscapes among steep limestone peaks on the emerald waters of Bai Tu Long Bay , then free time for swimming and relaxing at the unspoiled white sand beach. Return on board, then free time for a shower and relaxation on the upper deck or taking photos while contemplating the sunset. 

Then you enjoy the Sunset Party with fruits and snacks. You participate in a Vietnamese cooking demonstration . You can quickly learn a simple but delicious Vietnamese dish that Gordon Ramsay (a 2 Michelin star chef) used to guide – Nem Cuon or challenge yourself to chop fruits and vegetables.

Lunch and dinner are served with excellent local dishes and fresh seafood specialties. Dinner and overnight stay aboard the junk. 

Day 07: Bai Tu Long Bay - Cruise - Ha Long - Hanoi  ✈ Hue (B. Br)

If the weather permits, we recommend waking up at dawn to practice Tai -chi on the upper deck of the junk and to watch the sunrise which offers a picturesque view of Bai Tu Long Bay . 

After a morning swim, you will have breakfast on board before embarking on Hon Co Island where you will visit Thien Canh Son Cave ; one of the most beautiful and well-preserved hidden in Bai Tu Long Bay . 

Back on board, your junk then continues its cruise to take you through spectacular landscapes of the bay, continuing the cruise to the most beautiful and quiet corners of the bay. 

Light lunch is served as the junk returns to the pier.

Return to Hanoi in the afternoon, passing the magnificent landscapes of the extensive rice fields of the Red River Delta. Transfer directly to the airport for the flight to Hue .  Arrival in Hue, welcome by our driver, then he drives you to the city of Hue .  Free dinner and overnight at the hotel in Hue.

Day 08: Hue - Discovery (B. L)

Hue was the capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945, and this chapter was one of the most turbulent in the country. The city's preserved architectural and historical heritage deserves your full attention.

Breakfast at your hotel, today you visit  the  majestic Imperial City  where 13 Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty lived between 1802 and 1945.

It is the only Imperial City still visible today in Vietnam, time has passed, but it retains its beauty of original Vietnamese-Chinese architecture. You visit sumptuous monuments of the complex including: the South Gate, the Palace of Supreme Harmony, the East and West pavilions, the Reading Pavilion, the Royal Theater, the private palaces of the Queen Mother, the Palace of Longevity, the Tea and Boat pavilions, the Pavilion of Benevolence, the Gate of Virtue…

Next, you visit  the beautiful Celestial Lady Pagoda  perched on top of the hill overlooking  the  Perfume River .  You take a lovely walk to visit  the  Dong Ba Market  where you will find products that demonstrate the skill of Hue women, such as their talent for making the famous conical hats!

You will enjoy a  lunch with typical Hue dishes .

In the afternoon, you'll visit  the  Imperial Mausoleum of Tu Duc  —a sumptuous tomb built in a peaceful haven amid frangipani and pine trees. This building was constructed according to plans drawn up by the emperor himself. On the way back, you'll stop to explore the craft district where incense sticks and conical hats are made.

You will be transferred by car to reach  the  village of Thanh Tien . This village is known for its paper flowers, which local artisans have been traditionally making for 4 centuries. An introduction to making these flowers is planned, and everyone will leave with their creation. The whole family will thus be able to keep a tangible memory of Thanh Tien....

Day 09: Hue - Cloud Pass - Da Nang - Hoi An (B. L)

Breakfast at the hotel, then departure by private car to  Da Nang  crossing beautiful landscapes along the central coast of Vietnam. Several stops along the way including one on the  Cloud Pass  to have a beautiful view towards  Lang Co beach , one of the most beautiful peninsulas in Vietnam and towards the  Lap An lagoon  along the way.

Arriving in the ancient town of Hoi An around noon, you will first have lunch in a local restaurant and then you will walk through small and narrow streets occupied on both sides by pretty ancient houses, testimonies of a flourishing period of foreign trade of the country already a few hundred years ago. With its architectural and historical values, Hoi An known in the past under its name “Faifo”, ​​was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. During this walk, you will visit the most beautiful remains of Hoi An such as the  Japanese Bridge, the Chinese temple, the old house as well as the handicraft district…

In the afternoon, we'll take you to a lantern-making workshop in Hoi An's ancient quarter. You can make your own lantern. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this ancient port town on your own. Dinner is free and you'll spend the night at your hotel in Hoi An.

Day 11: Hoi An - Da Nang ✈  Saigon (BL)

Breakfast at the hotel before transfer to Da Nang airport for the domestic flight to Saigon; (renamed Ho Chi Minh City ) an active, bustling, rebellious, commercial, and casual city, it still remains the economic lung of the country. Arrival in Saigon, welcome by our guide and our driver then they drive you to the city center.

You start your city tour firstly in Cho Lon Chinatown with its Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda which is dedicated to the worship of the Sea Goddess. Enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will stroll among the colonial remains, witnesses to the presence of the French in this part of the world for almost a century. Discover the city of Saigon through charming colonial buildings: Notre Dame Cathedral, the Ho Chi Minh Post Office, the Municipal Theater "seen from the outside". Then you will visit the Reunification Palace, former residence of the President of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975. Free dinner and overnight at the hotel in the city center.

Day 12: Saigon - Ben Tre - Can Tho (Mekong Delta) (B. D)

Breakfast at the hotel, then departure towards Ben Tre to discover the Mekong Delta , formed by the nine branches of the nourishing river. Upon arrival in Ben Tre, you board a local boat. This private boat takes you on the river to discover the daily activities of the locals.

Then you cross the canal and stop at a family where you are then invited to taste fresh tropical fruits and honey tea.

The cruise continues on the Ham Luong River . You disembark at Cai Cam village to visit the coconut craft workshop : you will see how people use all parts of the coconut and you will taste these sweets.

Continue by tuk tuk (motorized vehicle) through coconut fields and vegetable and fruit gardens . You stop at a family's house that specializes in making brooms from coconut stems.

Next, you'll enjoy a pleasant rowboat ride through a coconut grove , passing through unspoiled and romantic landscapes. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant during the visit.

In the afternoon, depart for Can Tho, crossing the vast landscapes of the Mekong Delta. Arrive in Can Tho in the late afternoon. Dinner at your leisure and overnight at a hotel in Can Tho.

Day 13: Can Tho - Cai Rang Floating Market - Xeo Quyt - Saigon (B. L)

After breakfast at the hotel, this morning is dedicated to visiting the Cai Rang floating market,  known as one of the most typical and beautiful markets in the Mekong Delta. This discovery promises to be impressive.

You sail among local boats carrying a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables from the region. This image makes the market more lively, bustling, and friendly.

We leave the market and continue our boat ride to the tropical fruit orchard. You'll have the opportunity to taste the fresh fruit. Next, you'll visit the rice noodle factory (Hu Tieu) – a popular specialty at the Cai Rang floating market.

Disembark and continue the route to Dong Thap to visit the Xeo Quyt Ecological Reserve . You embark in a rowboat under the dense jungle canopy. Then, you take a beautiful walk in a forest sheltering a former Viet Cong base.

This historic ecotourism site covers a total area of ​​approximately 50 hectares, giving visitors the feeling of being lost in the primeval forest with extraordinary landscapes. Here you have the opportunity to hear about historical battles in the 1960s and 1975s and memories associated with the war, such as the bomb shelter, the Z fortification, and private tunnels. In addition, with its ecological diversity of flora and fauna, Xeo Quyt is an impressive destination.

Lunch at a local restaurant and continue your journey to Saigon. Arrival in Saigon in the late afternoon, dinner on your own, and overnight at your hotel in the city center.

Day 14: Saigon/Departure journey (B)

After breakfast at the hotel,  the rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the city on your own, as well as for last minute shopping until you are transferred to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your international departure flight.

1. Climate in Vietnam 

Vietnam's climate varies greatly and is characteristic from one end of the country to the other due to its latitude differences. The country's geographical peculiarities make it possible to have a wonderful trip to Vietnam in every season. Indeed, while one region is humid or stifling, another offers a sunny and very temperate climate.

+ From December to February:
The north and center of the country are in winter. The average temperature varies between 15°C and 23°C. It is quite cool and humid with irregular rain, especially in the mountains where the temperature often drops below 10°C. This period is characterized by frequent drizzle, which the Vietnamese call "dust rain." There is therefore very little sunshine.

The south of the country is considered an ideal time of year, as it is the dry season with 1 to 2 days of rain per month. It is also the time when the temperature is pleasant, ranging from 22°C to 33°C. The vegetation is very green, offering you great opportunities to take beautiful photos.

+ From March to May:
This period is known as the most beautiful season of the year for an ideal stay in Vietnam. During this period, the climate is very pleasant. It is the dry season in all 3 regions of the country but also the period when vegetation is lush, green rice fields offer you great opportunities to take superb souvenir photos.

The North is located in spring, where the weather is mild. This region benefits from the cool breeze, with an average temperature of 15°C to 25°C. During this period, this region experiences beautiful sunshine but rarely rain.

This is also the best time of year to visit the Center. The climate is quite favorable and tropical. The weather becomes sunnier, with a nice rise in temperature between 25°C and 32°C.

The south is considered a good time to visit. The climate is dry and very sunny. However, the heat can be unpleasant, as the average temperature ranges from 28°C to 34°C and can rise to 41°C. However, the frequent short rains bring a bit of freshness.

+ June to September:
This is the country's third tourist season. Overall, the climate is pleasant from north to south for traveling in Vietnam.

The north of the country is in summer. The climate is hot with an average temperature of 25°C to 33°C. Rainfall this season is heavy (usually showers) but short-lived, lasting about 30 minutes to 1 hour. The mountainous region is also hot, with frequent but heavy and rapid rains. The sky is blue and sunny, and the weather is the clearest of the year, while the rice terraces are lush green. It's ideal for short hikes to ethnic villages.

The central region is a good time to visit, as it's not affected by the summer monsoon. The weather is good, often with heat haze, and temperatures can reach 40°C. Rainfall in this region, however, is less frequent than in the north. However, if you're staying in the central seaside resorts, the beach will be your best ally for cooling off.

The south has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 25°C to 33°C. This is the rainy season, but the rains are often in the form of very rapid downpours (about 15 to 30 minutes). After the rain, there is immediately generous sunshine under clear skies, and the vegetation is also very green.

+ From October to November:
Overall, October to November is considered a very good season to travel to Vietnam.

The North enjoys a very pleasant climate in autumn, with cool, dry weather and an average temperature of 15°C to 23°C.

The center enjoys a fairly pleasant temperature between 20°C and 28°C. This period also corresponds to the stormy season with heavy rainfall that can lead to more or less significant flooding on the coastal strip. This region also experiences heavy rains, although present, do not last long.

The south enjoys a tropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 32°C. Sunshine and warmth are always present. During this period, heavy rains (in the form of brief but almost daily torrential downpours) cool the atmosphere. Be aware, however, that heavy rains generally occur towards the end of the day and should leave you free to explore the region.

Our latest weather advice 

• Vietnam lies in the path of typhoons and tropical storms and is particularly affected between mid-July and mid-November. With modernized infrastructure and weather warnings, there is no major danger.

• The rainy season does not mean raining all day long, hence monsoon season seems to be a more appropriate term, and contrary to popular belief, these rains are nourishing and synonymous with life in Vietnam, the land of water!

2. Accommodation

3. Visa

To travel to Vietnam you must have a valid passport valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

The Government of Vietnam promulgates the Resolution on visa exemption for entry into Vietnam for citizens of five European countries: the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. This exemption is applied for a maximum period of 45 days regardless of passport category and purpose of entry to Vietnam, and is valid from August 15, 2023.

Visa exemption is also applied for multiple entries as long as they are less than 45 days.

4. Vaccin

First of all, according to the Vietnam General Administration of Tourism, vaccination is not mandatory for a trip to Vietnam. We confirm that our country has a tropical climate and therefore mosquitoes do exist. However, malaria cases only exist in remote and isolated areas in the high mountains. In our experience, vaccination will be necessary for hiking trips in isolated high mountain areas, in forests, and lasting 1 to 3 weeks. While this type of cultural tour will take you through regions where conditions are sufficiently safe.

Usually, our travelers only use mosquito repellents, which are very effective and practical. So, this is enough, and there's no need to worry. However, we recommend buying some from home because it's difficult to find good quality products in Vietnam. Aside from these mosquito repellents, it's best to prepare long jeans that can completely cover your legs while walking through rice fields.

Today, all hotels apply highly effective mosquito repellents, while mosquito nets are well-prepared when staying with locals.

5. International flight

Our offer does not include international flights between your country and Vietnam for two reasons:

• International flights departing from your country are more expensive if purchased in Vietnam. Therefore, it may be more cost-effective to purchase them from a ticketing agency in your country.
