Day 01: Hanoi - Arrival - First visit (D)

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), you'll be greeted by our fluent English-speaking guide and driver, who will then transfer you by car to central Hanoi. The first scenes of chaotic Vietnamese traffic unfold before your eyes.

Depending on your arrival flight schedule, you will either have the opportunity to rest at your hotel if the room is available, or to go on an orientation tour of the city.

Day 02: Hanoi - City Discovery (B. L)

Breakfast at the hotel, now we offer you an unusual tour of the city , far from the classic tourist circuit, we will go off the beaten track. Let's start by sharing an egg coffee , a specialty of the city, to get to know our guide. Crossing some of the 36 streets and corporations of the old quarter of Hanoi, we will visit an old typical Hanoian house . You then stroll through the typical market of Dong Xuan and visit the temple of Bach Ma . Then you stroll on the Doumer bridge . After strolling on this bridge, you visit the railway that crosses the city.

Next, we head to the Western District to visit  Tran Quoc Pagoda,  located on the shores of West Lake. It is known as one of the oldest and most beautiful pagodas in Vietnam.

Lunch at a good local restaurant.

The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the  Temple of Literature  in Hanoi - a symbol of Vietnamese feudal education and living proof of the passionate spirit of Vietnamese studies. Then, we take a short walk to visit the  Ngoc Son Temple "Jade Mountain"  located on the shores of the Lake of the Restored Sword , the opportunity to contemplate the very pretty Hoan Kiem Lake at dusk.

Theater evening  : You attend thewater puppet dance show.

Day 03: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Discovery (B. L)

Breakfast at the hotel, departure to the Pu Luong reserve  crossing Mai Chau , new wonder crossing rice fields as far as the eye can see and ethnic villages, offering panoramas of striking beauty. Lunch in a local restaurant.

With its unspoiled landscapes and abundant and diverse flora and fauna, the nature reserve has become a fascinating destination for all nature lovers. Covering an area of ​​17,662 hectares, Pu Luong Nature Reserve is the largest karst forest area in northern Vietnam, with three main types of forest: lowland jungle, montane forests, and bamboo and shrub massifs. Upon arrival, visitors can walk through villages clinging to the mountainside, admire terraced rice paddies and lush forests, visit caves, and admire numerous norias – hydraulic machines used by several ethnic minorities to raise water using the energy produced by the water current to irrigate rice paddies.

Arriving in Pu Luong , you then descend the magnificent valley towards the village of Kho Muong . On the way, you can enjoy an extraordinary landscape with rice terraces all around you...

After admiring a magnificent landscape from the top of the mountain, you will visit the village of Kho Muong. According to the local dialect, “Kho” means origin and “Muong” village, as its name suggests, it was one of the first villages to be formed in the region. It is surrounded by a mountain range, making it a village isolated from the rest of the surrounding area. 

Next, you visit the Bat Cave . This is because it is home to many species of bats . As you go deep into the cave, tourists will be attracted by hundreds of stalactites and stone blocks with strange shapes and various magical colors. All this creates a lively and mysterious atmosphere.

Return to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the pool, giving us the opportunity to appreciate the splendid landscapes and rice paddies that characterize this reserve. Dinner is free and overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Pu Luong - Ninh Binh - Boat trip to Tam Coc - Embroidery class - Ha Long Bay on land (B. L)

Breakfast at the hotel, departure by private car for  Ninh Binh also nicknamed the “Halong Bay on land” .

Arriving in Ninh Binh , you board a rowboat for a beautiful trip on the Ngo Dong River . Along the water, in the middle of the rice fields, you admire the extraordinary landscapes of numerous limestone peaks with tormented shapes covered with lush vegetation. This is the reason why this place is nicknamed the terrestrial Ha Long Bay . You go up the river to the three beautiful caves (Tam Coc) . Lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will visit a family in Van Lam village who are engaged in embroidery. You will taste sweets and welcome tea, then you will participate in an embroidery class under the instruction of the local craftswoman . She will proudly explain the techniques of her traditional craft. This will be a good opportunity for you to practice on fabric like a real craftswoman.

Then, you take a beautiful bike ride towards the Hang Mua pagoda , perched on a peak from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire region... If the climb of 500 steps requires a minimum of physical fitness, the view from the summit is breathtaking, with a panorama of the entire region - A must-see in the region.

Day 05: Ninh Binh - Ha Long - Bai Tu Long Bay - Cruise (BL D)

After breakfast, departure by private car for the departure to Bai Tu Long Bay which is wilder and less frequented.

Arrival in Ha Long around noon, immediate boarding a beautiful junk, converted into a floating hotel for a magnificent cruise to discover the UNESCO world heritage . Welcome drink and presentation of the cruise program. Then you settle into your cabin to freshen up. Lunch is served while your junk begins its cruise sailing among the magnificent landscapes of the 7th wonder of the world with its thousands of islands and islets shaped like sugar loaves. 

You then use the small boat to reach the island of Cap La where you take a beautiful kayak ride through breathtaking landscapes among steep limestone peaks on the emerald waters of Bai Tu Long Bay , then free time for swimming and relaxing at the unspoiled white sand beach. Return on board, then free time for a shower and relaxation on the upper deck or taking photos while contemplating the sunset. 

Then you enjoy the Sunset Party with fruits and snacks. You participate in a Vietnamese cooking demonstration . You can quickly learn a simple but delicious Vietnamese dish that Gordon Ramsay (a 2 Michelin star chef) used to guide – Nem Cuon or challenge yourself to chop fruits and vegetables.

Lunch and dinner are served with excellent local dishes and fresh seafood specialties on the menu.

Day 06: Bai Tu Long Bay - Cruise - Ha Long - Hanoi (B. Br)

If the weather permits, we recommend waking up at dawn to practice Tai-chi on the upper deck of the junk and to watch the sunrise which offers a picturesque view of Bai Tu Long Bay . 

After a morning swim, you will have breakfast on board before embarking on Hon Co Island where you will visit Thien Canh Son Cave ; one of the most beautiful and well-preserved hidden in Bai Tu Long Bay . 

Back on board, your junk then continues its cruise to take you through spectacular landscapes of the bay, continuing the cruise to the most beautiful and quiet corners of the bay. 

Light lunch is served as the junk returns to the pier.

Return to Hanoi in the afternoon, passing the magnificent landscapes of the extensive rice fields of the Red River Delta, with a scheduled stop at  Phu Lang  to discover traditional pottery making.

Arrival in Hanoi in the late afternoon. Free dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in the city center.

Day 07: Hanoi ✈ Hue - City Discovery (B. L)

Hue was the capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945, and this chapter was one of the most turbulent in the country. The city's preserved architectural and historical heritage deserves your full attention.

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Noi Bai Airport for  the domestic flight to Hue ; the ancient capital, recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. The city is considered a large living museum with a large number of historical monuments, imperial tombs, pagodas and temples. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our local guide and driver, who will then drive you to the city center.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we first visit the  majestic Imperial City where 13 Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty lived between 1802 and 1945. It is the only example of an Imperial City still existing today. Time has passed, but it still retains all its beauty of original Vietnamese-Chinese architecture. You visit sumptuous monuments of the complex including: the South Gate, the Palace of Supreme Harmony, the East and West Pavilions, the Reading Pavilion, the Royal Theater, the private palaces of the Queen Mother, the Palace of Longevity, the Tea and Boat Pavilions, the Pavilion of Benevolence, the Gate of Virtue…

Next, explore the  beautiful Celestial Lady Pagoda  , perched atop the hill overlooking the  Perfume River.  Enjoy dinner at your leisure and spend the night at a hotel in the heart of Hue.

Day 08: Hue - Discover the real local life & Visit the royal tomb (B. L)

Cycle to the village of La Chu while being accompanied by the typical landscapes of the Hue countryside between vegetable gardens, rice fields, banana plants, rivers, ...

Breakfast at your hotel then departure from the hotel by private car to the  village of La Chu  located 9 km north of Hue city center.

This village is known for its market gardening of vegetables and aromatic herbs (onions, chives, coriander, basil, etc.). 

Meet at the village entrance for a bike ride through the charming Hue countryside. Your first stop is a family-run paper votive offerings factory (a highly prized and deeply held belief among the Vietnamese).

Continue to a small local daily market . Visit the market through the stalls of meats, spices and fresh vegetables and fruits, under the kind and intrigued gaze of women who are not used to meeting tourists.

You'll then stroll through the vegetable fields, where you'll meet and chat with the villagers. They'll be delighted to pose for a photo with you—what a souvenir!

A very pleasant immersion in the Vietnamese countryside!

Typical countryside landscapes between fields, rice paddies, banana plants, rivers, lotus ponds. Of course, it is impossible to leave this bucolic setting without stopping by to greet the family specializing in the production of “Banh Loc ” –  a small cake made from rice flour mixed with shrimp . Chat with the family and have the opportunity to try your hand at creating these different dishes.

Arrive at a family-run restaurant surrounded by rice paddies to enjoy a delicious, fresh, and traditional lunch. After lunch, enjoy a unique moment of relaxation surrounded by the beauty of the Vietnamese rice paddies, with a hot foot bath scented with medicinal plants.

The program continues with a visit to the  imperial mausoleum of Tu Duc  - a sumptuous tomb surrounded by frangipani and pine trees, built according to plans drawn up by the emperor himself.

In the late afternoon, we take  a lovely walk to visit the Dong Ba Market  where you can find products that demonstrate the skill of Hue women, such as the famous conical hats! Dinner is free and overnight at the hotel in the heart of Hue city.

Day 09: Hue - Cloud Pass - Da Nang - Hoi An (B. L)

• Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An: 120 km ~ 4 hours drive

After breakfast at the hotel, today you leave Hue to drive to  Hoi An , crossing beautiful landscapes along the central coast of Vietnam. Several stops along the way including one on  the Cloud Pass  to have a beautiful view towards Lang Co beach, one of the most beautiful peninsulas in Vietnam. Upon arrival in  the city of Da Nang , you visit  the Museum dedicated to the arts of the Chams  renowned for their glorious past.

Upon arrival in the ancient town of Hoi An around noon, you will first have lunch in a local restaurant, then stroll through small and narrow streets occupied on both sides by beautiful ancient houses, testimonies of a flourishing period of foreign trade of the country already a few hundred years ago. With its architectural and historical values, Hoi An known in the past under its name “Faifo”, ​​was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. During this walk, you will visit the most beautiful remains of Hoi An such as the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese temple, the old house as well as the handicraft district…

The rest of the day is free for you to relax or for personal discovery and shopping... Free dinner and overnight at the hotel in Hoi An.

Day 10: Hoi An - Tra Que Village (by bike) (B. L)

The suburbs of Hoi An are full of very peaceful corners. After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a beautiful bike ride this morning to the market gardening village of Tra Que. Thanks to its several hundred farmers, Hoi An is supplied with all kinds of vegetables and herbs: lettuce, mint, basil, coriander, broccoli... The cultivation techniques remain very ecological. You will visit Mr. Minh's family of 3 generations who will offer you a welcome drink prepared with basil juice grown in his garden. You will then continue your bike ride in this village, making contact with local inhabitants who will introduce you to some cultivation methods. This part promises to be very enriching.

Back at Mr. Minh's, the family offers you a foot massage with medicinal herbs , then you are invited to participate in the preparation of some typical local dishes: crispy pancakes, Hoi An spring rolls, Tam Huu, fish grilled in banana leaves... which you will taste for lunch. After lunch, you take a Vietnamese-style nap: in the shade of a mango tree, before returning to the city by bike.

The rest of the afternoon is free to relax or enjoy the white sand beach or do your own shopping... Free dinner and overnight at the hotel in Hoi An.

Day 11: Hoi An - Free day - Rest time (B)

Breakfast at your hotel and then the whole day is free to relax, discover the city, and enjoy An Bang Beach . Free meals and overnight at the hotel in Hoi An.

Day 12: Hoi An - Da Nang ✈ Saigon (BL)

Breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Da Nang Airport for  the domestic flight to Saigon  ; (renamed Ho Chi Minh City) an active, bustling, rebellious, commercial, and casual city, it remains the economic heart of the country. Arrival in Saigon, welcome by our guide and driver, then they drive you to the city center.

You start your city tour firstly  in Cho Lon Chinatown with its Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda  which is dedicated to the worship of the Sea Goddess. Enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon: you will stroll among the colonial remains, witnesses to the presence of the French in this part of the world for almost a century. Discover the city of Sai Gon through  charming colonial buildings  : Notre Dame Cathedral "seen from the outside", the HO CHI MINH post office, the municipal theater "seen from the outside". Then you will visit the Reunification Palace , former residence of the President of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975. Free dinner and overnight at the hotel in the city center.

Day 13: Saigon - Can Tho - Tra On - Cruise on the Mekong (BL D)

Breakfast at the hotel, then we leave by private vehicle (without an English-speaking guide) for the Can Tho region. Upon arrival in Can Tho, you will board a traditional wooden boat for a beautiful cruise on the Mekong River . This cruise promises to be sublime. Welcome drink and presentation of the boat and the crew, then you will settle into your cabin.

Enjoy lunch with local specialties on board as our boat begins its cruise to take you through the meanders of the fabulous Mekong . Our boat enters the Nicolai Canal towards the Mang Thit River and the Co Chien River . Relax on deck enjoying the scenery of rice paddies, sugar cane, and wooded riverbanks.

In the mid-afternoon, the Bassac drops anchor for a visit ashore: behind the curtain of trees, a simple discovery of peaceful life in the Vietnamese countryside, rice fields, fruit trees and welcoming farmers, or, if you prefer, a short bike ride.

After this excursion, we return on board, then you have free time to relax on deck and watch the sunset. In the evening, dinner is carefully prepared by the excellent chef and crew. The boat drops anchor downstream from the small floating market of Tra On and spends the night there.

Day 14: Tra On - Can Tho - Cruise - Saigon (B. L)

For nature lovers, nothing is more delightful than waking up early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the Mekong, breakfast is available from 6:30 a.m.

Then our boat heads towards the Can Tho region. Arriving in Can Tho, you board the smaller boat to visit the Cai Rang floating market - a typical market in the Mekong Delta. You sail among all kinds of canoes and other fishing boats carrying a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, rice and regional handicrafts. This image makes the market more lively, animated and friendly. The boat will finally take you to the Ninh Kieu wharf.

Disembarkation and enjoy lunch featuring local specialties before returning to Saigon. Return to Saigon by private car (without an English-speaking guide). Arrive in Saigon in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight stay at your hotel in Saigon.

Day 15: Saigon - Departure flight (B)

After breakfast at the hotel,  the rest of the day is free for you to relax or to explore the city on your own as well as to do your last shopping until the transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for  the international departure flight .

1. Climate in Vietnam 

Vietnam's climate varies greatly and is characteristic from one end of the country to the other due to its latitude differences. The country's geographical peculiarities make it possible to have a wonderful trip to Vietnam in every season. Indeed, while one region is humid or stifling, another offers a sunny and very temperate climate.

+ From December to February:
The north and center of the country are in winter. The average temperature varies between 15°C and 23°C. It is quite cool and humid with irregular rain, especially in the mountains where the temperature often drops below 10°C. This period is characterized by frequent drizzle, which the Vietnamese call "dust rain." There is therefore very little sunshine.

The south of the country is considered an ideal time of year, as it is the dry season with 1 to 2 days of rain per month. It is also the time when the temperature is pleasant, ranging from 22°C to 33°C. The vegetation is very green, offering you great opportunities to take beautiful photos.

+ From March to May:
This period is known as the most beautiful season of the year for an ideal stay in Vietnam. During this period, the climate is very pleasant. It is the dry season in all 3 regions of the country but also the period when vegetation is lush, green rice fields offer you great opportunities to take superb souvenir photos.

The North is located in spring, where the weather is mild. This region benefits from the cool breeze, with an average temperature of 15°C to 25°C. During this period, this region experiences beautiful sunshine but rarely rain.

This is also the best time of year to visit the Center. The climate is quite favorable and tropical. The weather becomes sunnier, with a nice rise in temperature between 25°C and 32°C.

The south is considered a good time to visit. The climate is dry and very sunny. However, the heat can be unpleasant, as the average temperature ranges from 28°C to 34°C and can rise to 41°C. However, the frequent short rains bring a bit of freshness.

+ June to September:
This is the country's third tourist season. Overall, the climate is pleasant from north to south for traveling in Vietnam.

The north of the country is in summer. The climate is hot with an average temperature of 25°C to 33°C. Rainfall this season is heavy (usually showers) but short-lived, lasting about 30 minutes to 1 hour. The mountainous region is also hot, with frequent but heavy and rapid rains. The sky is blue and sunny, and the weather is the clearest of the year, while the rice terraces are lush green. It's ideal for short hikes to ethnic villages.

The central region is a good time to visit, as it's not affected by the summer monsoon. The weather is good, often with heat haze, and temperatures can reach 40°C. Rainfall in this region, however, is less frequent than in the north. However, if you're staying in the central seaside resorts, the beach will be your best ally for cooling off.

The south has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 25°C to 33°C. This is the rainy season, but the rains are often in the form of very rapid downpours (about 15 to 30 minutes). After the rain, there is immediately generous sunshine under clear skies, and the vegetation is also very green.

+ From October to November:
Overall, October to November is considered a very good season to travel to Vietnam.

The North enjoys a very pleasant climate in autumn, with cool, dry weather and an average temperature of 15°C to 23°C.

The center enjoys a fairly pleasant temperature between 20°C and 28°C. This period also corresponds to the stormy season with heavy rainfall that can lead to more or less significant flooding on the coastal strip. This region also experiences heavy rains, although present, do not last long.

The south enjoys a tropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 32°C. Sunshine and warmth are always present. During this period, heavy rains (in the form of brief but almost daily torrential downpours) cool the atmosphere. Be aware, however, that heavy rains generally occur towards the end of the day and should leave you free to explore the region.

Our latest weather advice 

• Vietnam lies in the path of typhoons and tropical storms and is particularly affected between mid-July and mid-November. With modernized infrastructure and weather warnings, there is no major danger.

• The rainy season does not mean raining all day long, hence monsoon season seems to be a more appropriate term, and contrary to popular belief, these rains are nourishing and synonymous with life in Vietnam, the land of water!

2. Accommodation

3. Visa

To travel to Vietnam you must have a valid passport valid for at least 6 months after your return date.

The Government of Vietnam promulgates the Resolution on visa exemption for entry into Vietnam for citizens of five European countries: the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. This exemption is applied for a maximum period of 45 days regardless of passport category and purpose of entry to Vietnam, and is valid from August 15, 2023.

Visa exemption is also applied for multiple entries as long as they are less than 45 days.

For any stay of more than 45 days, a visa is required.

4. Vaccin

First of all, according to the Vietnam General Administration of Tourism, vaccination is not mandatory for a trip to Vietnam. We confirm that our country has a tropical climate and therefore mosquitoes do exist. However, malaria cases only exist in remote and isolated areas in the high mountains. In our experience, vaccination will be necessary for hiking trips in isolated high mountain areas, in forests, and lasting 1 to 3 weeks. While this type of cultural tour will take you through regions where conditions are sufficiently safe.

Usually, our travelers only use mosquito repellents, which are very effective and practical. So, this is enough, and there's no need to worry. However, we recommend buying some from home because it's difficult to find good quality products in Vietnam. Aside from these mosquito repellents, it's best to prepare long jeans that can completely cover your legs while walking through rice fields.

Today, all hotels apply highly effective mosquito repellents, while mosquito nets are well-prepared when staying with locals.

5. International flight

Our offer does not include international flights between your country and Vietnam for two reasons:

• International flights departing from your country are more expensive if purchased in Vietnam. Therefore, it may be more cost-effective to purchase them from a ticketing agency in your country.

• Payment and booking conditions for international flights are strict, and it's difficult for us, a local agency, to apply the same conditions to you (full payment before travel). Since international financial transactions incur significant bank fees, you'll be forced to pay unnecessary surcharges.

Here are some tips from us for your purchase of international flight tickets:
